Dance Workshops

Art, and in particular dance, speaks beyond the barriers of language and culture. Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) is based upon the belief that the body and mind interact. DMT provides a non-verbal way to look at the connection between the body and emotions. Because dancing is often seen as an uplifting and enjoyable experience, it is a good way to encourage participants to use their  body in an enjoyable way which, in turn, empowers both the mind and body. Survivors can eventually regain a sense of control in a safe space and give their body a voice again.
